1st time making chiffon cake!

at 12:47 PM
the night before mission trip, i was over excited and couldn't sleep .

so, wake up and search some japanese recipe website coz wanna clear my banana again.. lol

and I found this recipe! it is really nice! softer and tastier than Malaysian chiffon cake.

Banana Chiffon cake (17cm) Recipes:

Ingredients:

4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
60g sugar (divided into two parts : 1/3 and 2/3)
30ml oil
40ml water
2 bananas
1 tbsp lemon juice (but I don't use)
75g cake flour (i used normal flour)
2/4 bars of finely chopped chocolate (I replaced it with chopped raisin)

Steps:

A) Banana puree
1) mashed banana and add in lemon juice, put aside.

B)the batter
1) beat egg yolk + 2/3 sugar (add in 3 times instead of put all at once) until the pale.
2) add in oil, mix well.
3) add in water, mix well.
4) add in banana paste + raisin (A)
5) sieve in flour and gentle mix it (DO NOT OVER MIXED!) as long as the flour mixed well, then ok.

C) Meringue
1) put the egg whites in a jug or big cup, use handmixer and beat for 1 min in low speed.
2) add in the remaining 1/3 sugar.
3) beat until it's firm (meaning the meringue will not drop from the mixer)

D) mixing all ingredient together

1) take 1/4 meringue (C) and put into the batter (B) and fold the batter until well mixed.
2) fold in 1/4 meringue again.
3) fold in all the remaining meringue in to the batter (B).
4) fold them until well mixed and pour in to the mold.

5) bake in 180 degree (20-30 minutes)

6) test with a chopstick to see whether the bottom of the cake is cook o not, if no batter stick on the chopstick, then it means it's cooked.

7) once baked, turn it upside down and let it cool down completely (roughly 1 hour)

8) remove from the mold and cut in to small pieces and serve.

tadaaa.. very successful..

the cake is soooo soft!!!

then, using the same method, i bake another cake.

I replaced the water with milk and it turn out to be like this.

I put green apple instead of banana.

i think water is better than milk.

after I baked the two cakes, it is almost 5am.

so, i continue to search for another recipe..

banana muesli.. coz still left 2 bananas...

tadaa... very tasty!!! when eat with milk!!!!

pack the chiffon cake for the mission trip.

then enjoy my banana muesli as breakfast at 5:30am before departing to church at 7am.
